Entry :- i belong to 83-90 period of this campus. predegree to pg. in my pdc yrs i kept aloof from the heppenings in the campus. a village school boy found unfreindly surroundings when he was exposed to the liberal atmosphere of maharajas and surrounding city life. but gradually i was absorbed into the campus earning new found friends.
when we were there for our degree classes the absesnce of ''great minds'' of 70s and 80s were greatly felt. they had already depatrted. only bharathan sir was there.
those were the times when politics played a big role in the campus. though the people were ready to welcome the ''blooming of a hundred flowers'' the intolerance and hegamony was the order of the day. those were the years of turbulance in the world out side the campus.totalitarian regimes were tumbled down, walls were pulled down and in india the voices of the unrepresented masses were heard aloud.there was a reflection of every incident in the campus.
the real bliss of campus life was of course, friendship!. and in maharajas it was in abundance and supportive teachers , staff...
and now after these long yrs of college life whenever i think about maharajas i felt that it was a living monument, an organic structure which welcomed and allowed me to bask inside its interors.
i admire those august structures and greenery for it should be there for the generation to come as a great symbol of learning, love and fraternity.... |
